Anna Maria Island Fishing Report November
Offshore: Quite a few Triple Tail have been caught just a few miles off the beaches of Anna Maria last month. These dark mysterious three tailed fish holding near the surface can be easy to spot around the Crab Trap Lines. We cast a live shrimp or a pilchard freelined with 3’ of 15lb fluorocarbon leader and # 2 circle hook. All those tails will give you a good fight and a tasty dinner.
Slowly Trolling big lipped lures over structure and ledges was producing some nice Gag Grouper. When the water temp drops the Gag grouper will move in closer to shore and the red grouper seem to stay in deeper water. When bottom fishing ledges for Grouper use a palm of your hand sized live pinfish for bait, hooked near the anus using a 4/0 circle hook tied to 6’ of 30lb mono leader to a swivel and a 2 ounce egg sinker. A medium
